Secondary Color Palette

Secondary colors are supporting colors. They are meant to add variety and flexibility without replacing the main palette. Use them in smaller ways, such as in charts, highlights in infographics, accent boxes, or small design elements like lines or icons. They also work well to help separate sections on a page without overshadowing the primary colors.

Keep in Mind

  • Primary colors should always lead.
  • Secondary colors are helpers. They bring balance, highlight information, and keep designs from feeling too heavy or one-note.
  • When in doubt, start with the primary palette first, then add secondary colors sparingly where extra contrast or variety is needed.
